From March 3 to March 12, Spanish students took the National Spanish Examinations, an online, standardized assessment for grades six to 12.
Overall, many students excelled on the test and placed in the 50th, 70th and 80th percentiles. “I’m really proud of all the students that placed,” Spanish teacher Aubra Williamson said, “As it continues to become part of the curriculum we will be able to better prepare.”
While this is not the first year the test has been offered, it is the first time all students were able to participate without paying the six dollar fee. “This is the first time every Spanish student has participated. We were able to provide funding for all students to participate,” Williamson stated.
Williamson hopes that MHS can continue to receive funding for the Spanish Examination for many years to come.
